The man in the image next to the fire holding the branding iron is intended to illustrate Alan Schroeder’s father, William F. Schroeder. William F. Schroeder is holding the Schroeder’s Tulip S Branding Iron.

During his professional lifetime (1950 to 2015), beyond being a lawyer and family man, William F. Schroeder was a noted speaker and writer on federal lands and natural resource related issues to over seven colleges and universities and many gatherings of professional organizations interested in the federal lands, water, and mining. Mr. Schroeder’s speech-essays concerning the challenges of the federal lands have appeared in publications all across the Western United States.
